Sally-Ann Poulsen is Professor and Principal Research Leader, Institute for Biomedicine and Glycomics, Griffith University, Brisbane, Australia. Her research is defined by the application of chemistry expertise to address complex questions across biology, leading projects to develop new chemical probes to study pathogens, develop improved chemical synthesis of nucleotides/nucleosides/and RNA, and the development of native mass spectrometry to characterise complex biomolecules. Sally-Ann was recipient of the prestigious 2023 Ramaciotti Biomedical Research Award to establish first-in-Australia CDMS technology within the ‘Ramaciotti National Native Mass Spectrometry Platform for Health Discoveries’. Sally-Ann was also Director of Compounds Australia, Australia’s flagship compound management and logistics facility that is part of the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) Therapeutic Innovation Australia small molecules platform. Sally-Ann was appointed as a Fellow, Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI) in 2017 and was Chair of the RACI Medicinal Chemistry and Chemical Biology Division 2018-2023 and was recipient of the RACI Margaret Sheil Leadership award in 2024.
